Co-building the DxD Intensives program
Developing and nurturing strategic partnerships.
My journey with Diversify by Design (DxD) began in 2023, when I joined a mentorship program through Workday. My commitment to giving back drove me to join, especially after learning we'd be working with my alma mater, SF State University.
Through hours of collaborative brainstorming and feedback sessions with Kelli W., Workday's dedicated liaison, and the entire DxD team, we refined and improved the program.
Initially, my involvement had little to do with program development; it was all about helping other designers learn how to navigate and thrive in tech.
It was truly humbling when Andréa P., DxD's co-founder, later affirmed that my contributions were instrumental in building the program into what it is today.

The Design= Curriculum Kit
Sharing my path to design with middle and high school students.
"An experiential learning initiative focused on introducing the world of design to historically excluded youth and expanding the impact of D×D’s youth program partners."
I was thrilled to be asked to have my story included in the Design= Curriculum Kit.
This was an opportunity to reach 6th to 12th grade students and their parents, especially those who look like me, to let them know that not only is design a viable career option, but if I could do it, so can they.
Getting appointed to the Advisory Council
Expanding my reach in a strategic way.
"The passion, dedication, and experience he brings to mentoring the next generation of designers is invaluable to the coalition."

Founder
Being asked to join the DxD Advisory Council is an important moment in my career.
It solidified that my efforts are in the right direction, not only to help introduce design to younger generations of people of color but also to prepare college students to thrive in the profession and ultimately move the needle in the industry.
