Hi, My Name Is
Songs in the Key of Life
Growing up in the Bay Area, I absorbed a mix of cultures and aesthetics that still shape my work.
Music was my first love. I started DJing in middle school and producing sample-based music in high school. I learned to find harmony by layering separate elements into a cohesive piece.
My design approach is rooted in those early lessons in rhythm and structure, my multi-industry background, and life experiences.
Allow me to reintroduce myself…
I returned to school later in life to study visual communications.
To support my family, I bartended and drove for rideshare services. Those rides introduced me to UX through conversations with designers and investors.
I began studying cognitive behavioral psychology, universal practices and principles, and mental models outside of school to understand how people use products. This path led me to my first UX role in Fintech.
To further my knowledge, I began attending Designer Fund workshops where I learned about the business side of design, habits of high-performing teams, and how to give effective feedback. These workshops helped me become a more impactful designer and cross-functional partner.
Behind the Boards
I've placed music in Ads, Film, and TV.
I've designed shoes that I own.
My wife and I own a flower shop in San Francisco.
These creative outlets allow me to explore design beyond digital spaces.
One mic, many voices
